The
Japan Prize 2005
|
From last year’s contest a new division was introduced,
the Program Proposals Division, for proposals for TV programs
that could make a valuable contribution to education in the
countries from which they were entered.
The award for the winning proposal in the new division was made
by the HBF. The value of the award is US$8,000 in total for
proposals – one, two or three – selected as the
best. The money is given to assist with production costs.
There were 61 proposals from 40 organizations. Five of them
were short-listed and their producers were invited to Tokyo
to make presentations on their proposed programs on October
29, 2005. The winner was officially announced at the Awards
ceremony on October 31, and received a medal and a check from
Mr Toshio Kawatake, the president of the Hoso Bunka Foundation.
