Announcement of the Winners of the 52nd Hoso Bunka Foundation Prize

The Hoso Bunka Foundation Prize recognizes outstanding programs, content, individuals, and groups selected from broadcast and online media released between April 2025 and March 2026.

For this 52st edition, a total of 317 entries and nominations were received from commercial broadcasters, NHK, and streaming platforms across Japan. After two months of rigorous review starting in April, 32 awards were selected across the following categories:

  • Program Categories (Documentary, Drama, Entertainment, and Radio):
    • 16 award-winning works, including the Grand Prix, Excellence Award, and Incentive Award.
  • Individual Categories (Individual Categories such as the Acting Award and Writing Award):
    • 7 recipients.
  • Broadcasting Culture Category and Broadcasting Technology Category:
    • 8 recipients.
  • Special Award:
    • 1 recipient.

The Award Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 4:30 PM in Tokyo.
